Lindsey's other work and interests
A biography of Lindsey’s writing-related work can be found HERE. But writing isn’t only about the act of writing; everything feeds into it.
Lindsey ran her own photography business for several years, won numerous awards for her photography and qualified as a Licentiate of the British Institute of Professional Photographers. Her work focused on weddings and family portraits but her greatest photographic enthusiasms are wildlife, documentary and artistic portraits. During this time she also trained in graphic and basic web design. Because of difficult personal circumstances, she lost all of her photographic equipment and many of her images, however you can see a selection of them HERE. She hopes to rekindle her photography alongside her writing-related work in the near future so watch this space!
Lindsey worked as an associate lecturer at Edge Hill University in Lancashire for four years, until 2016. She grew up in a family of teachers. A qualified FE tutor, she is known for her energetic tuition and imaginative but attentive teaching methods.
Lindsey has organised numerous literary and non-literary events, group trips, residential courses and tours as well as establishing and working with partners (e.g. English Heritage, The Wordsworth Trust, Chester Zoo and the Museum of Liverpool).
She worked as a corporate events instructor for two years, supervising outdoor activities such as raft and tower building, driving a reverse-steer jeep, treasure hunts, quad biking and paintballing. She presented feedback on team dynamics and communications. Her enjoyment both of working with groups and of outdoor activities feeds into her writing, tutoring and photography.
In the past year, she has been creating videos regularly, whilst hiking in the UK and walking much of the Camino de Santiago. Photography, and video, are her preferred form of note-taking, particularly for creative non-fiction.
One of Lindsey’s other passions is board games! Have a look at her Instagram feed for snapshots of the latest games to reach her table.
